Programming = coding
Programming is telling your computer what we want it to do for us. A computer can do anything we want...


But we need to give instructions to it in the appropriate language. You can watch this video to understand it better (only until minute 1:30).

The language we use to communicate to the computer is called programming language.  For example: Javascript, Scratch, C++, html.
